Sign up for the Spudtacular Washers Tournament - First place team receives a cash prize! Teams of 2, $20 per team.  Prize amount dependent upon number of teams participating and tournament is limited to the first 16 teams!

Rules: Scoring is one point for being on the board, three points if you are leaning over the edge of the cup and five if you are in the cup. Spudtacular’s tournament is limited to the first 16 teams and teams may register at Hewittchamber.com/Spudtacular.

Board Distance: 21 feet to the center of the opposite cup from the back of your board. The back of the board is where you will stand when pitching your washers. When you have established this distance you can easily add eye hooks and a rope to your boards so you won’t have to measure again.

To determine who will "pitch" first to start the game, a player from each team will pitch one washer toward the opposite board and whoever gets closest to the hole will start the game. After the game has started the person or team who scored last pitches first.

Playing the game: Team A’s player will pitch their three washers (one at a time) toward the opposite board followed by Team B’s player. Scoring is determined after both players have pitched all of their washers. Only 1 player/team scores per round but scores points for all washers that are closer than their opponents. Equal points cancel each other (e.g., If team A pitches a one point and a five point toss and Team B pitches a 1 point then team A scores five points). Judges will measure pitches with ruler and be final say on legal leaners.

The winner is the first team to reach 21 points. If Team A reaches 21 and team B has yet to pitch their washers then team B is allowed to finish the round.

Spudtacular Divisions: Green Division (8 teams) will start single-elimination tournament play at 2:00 p.m. and will continue to play until one team remains. Green’s winning team will break while Gold Division (8 teams) begins to play (approximately 3:00 p.m./ 3:15 p.m.). The winning teams of Green and Gold Divisions will play the final game for the Spudtacular Cash Prize! A portion of the event proceeds will benefit MISD Hunger Free.
